01 - Privacy Policy

How we handle your information

This policy explains what personal information Elevate Electronics Ltd, trading as C.E. Electronics ("we", "us", "our"), collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. We are the data controller for the information you provide to us. Our registered office is Bridge House, Station Approach, Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, HP16 9AZ, and we are registered in England & Wales under company number 02730824. We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended.

Information we collect

We collect only the information we need to respond to you and to supply our products and services. This includes:

  • Contact & enquiry details you give us through the enquiry form, by email or by phone: your name, company, email address, telephone number and the contents of your message.
  • Order & account information needed to process quotations, orders, deliveries and invoices, including delivery addresses, purchase-order references and payment details.
  • Supplier & partner information: contact, contractual and payment details needed to manage our supply chain.
  • Technical & usage data collected automatically when you use our website, such as IP address, browser type and pages visited (see Cookies & Similar Technologies below).

Process orders, delivery & support

Performance of a contract, or legitimate interests

Accounting, tax & legal records

Consent

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests are responding to the enquiries we receive, preparing quotations, supplying and supporting our products, and running and protecting our business. We only rely on them where doing so does not override your rights and interests. Most of the people who contact us do so on behalf of their employer, so where an order is placed the contracting party is usually that company rather than the individual.

Where we rely on consent, for example for optional marketing updates, you can withdraw it at any time. We never sell personal data, and we do not use personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to deliver our products and services. That can include manufacturers and couriers who build and ship goods, our IT and payment providers, and our accountants and legal advisers. Where a North American enquiry needs to be redirected, we share it with C.E. Electronics Inc . We may also disclose information to regulators or where otherwise required by law. Where a third party processes personal data on our behalf, we require appropriate data protection and security arrangements to be in place, and they may only act on our instructions.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards. Order, invoice and tax records are generally retained for seven years to meet applicable accounting, tax and record-keeping requirements. Website logs are kept for up to twelve months unless needed for a security investigation. When information is no longer needed it is securely deleted or anonymised.

Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, including access controls, strong authentication, encryption in transit and at rest, regular backups and staff confidentiality requirements. Access is limited to staff and partners who need it to do their job. Your rights over your information are set out in the GDPR & Data Rights section below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the date of the most recent revision shown at the top.

02 - Cookies & Similar Technologies

How we use cookies and local storage

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. The rules also cover similar technologies that store information on, or read it from, your device, such as your browser's local storage. Like most websites, we use a small number of these to keep our site secure and working properly. We do not use them for analytics, advertising or tracking, and we never sell data collected through them. The only third-party cookies you may receive come from the Google Map on our contact page, and only if you accept them (see Third-party content below).

Not used

The strictly necessary cookies are set by Cloudflare, which hosts and secures our website, for example to run the spam check on our contact form. They are used for security and service operation, and are not used by us for advertising or cross-site tracking. Because they are needed to deliver the site you asked for, no consent is required. The same is true of the local storage we use to remember your choices, which falls within the exceptions in PECR for storage that is strictly necessary or that is used only to make the site work the way you have asked. You can read more about the Cloudflare cookies in the Cloudflare Cookie Policy .

Third-party content

Our contact page can show a Google Map so you can find our office. Because Google sets its own cookies and receives your IP address when the map loads, we keep it switched off until you accept cookies. If you decline, the map stays hidden and you can still load it with a single click whenever you like. Google's use of any data is handled under Google's Privacy Policy . You can review or change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.

Local storage

To make the site work smoothly we store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage: the contents of your enquiry list, whether you accepted or declined cookies, and whether you have dismissed the US-visitor prompt. Recording your cookie choice sets no cookie of its own. This data never leaves your device, is not sent to us or to anyone else, and is not used for tracking. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Details for each browser are available from its help pages, and general guidance is available at www.allaboutcookies.org . Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site, such as the enquiry form, from working correctly.

03 - GDPR & Data Rights

Your rights over your data

We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and PECR, as amended. Under that law you have a number of rights, which you can exercise free of charge at any time by contacting us.

Right to be informed

To know what data we hold and why, set out in this notice.

Access

To request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Rectification

To have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected.

Erasure

To ask us to delete data where there is no overriding reason to keep it.

Restriction & objection

To limit or object to how we process your data.

Portability

To receive your data in a portable format, where applicable.

You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

How to exercise your rights

To make a request, email us at [email protected] or write to the registered office above. We will respond within one month. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.

International transfers

Where a North American enquiry is redirected to the appropriate same-name C.E. Electronics supplier, or where a supplier processes data outside the UK, we ensure the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the appropriate safeguards required under UK data protection law, so your data remains protected.

COMPLAINTS

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can make a data protection complaint to us at [email protected] or on +44 (0)1628 487633, or by writing to the registered office above. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it, look into it, keep you updated on progress and tell you the outcome without undue delay.

Please give us the chance to put things right first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
